From humble beginnings in 1978 when Barry & Carol Ellis, farmers and bulk haulage contractors, founded North Western Employment Services, supplying HGV Drivers & Warehouse Operatives to industries in and around the Greater Manchester area, NWES Recruitment has grown into one of the largest privately owned recruitment agencies offering staffing solutions across the North West of England.
1985 saw the integration of Truck hire, allowing drivers to be supplied in their own wagon, a revolutionary concept at the time.
1995 was the turning point in the continuing success of the company, the old BRS transport Yard at Much Hoole near Longton was purchased and renamed as Longton Business Park, the 8.5 acre site with warehousing and offices became the head office and hub for the next stage in the company’s growth.
2005 saw the sale of the Manchester office and the integration into the head office at Longton.
The journey began in 1978 when Barry formed North Western Employment Services from a small office on Bury New Road in Prestwich.
1986 was the opening of the first Preston office, a porta cabin situated at the back of the family farmhouse in Longton; this allowed the company to continue its focus on growth into the whole of the North West.
2000 saw the birth of the Trailer Rental Division and the renaming of the employment and rental as N W E S Recruitment & N W E S Trailer Rental.
Over the ensuing years N W E S Recruitment has grown into one of the largest independent suppliers of staff across the North West, and can boast as having the resources and ability to provide over a thousand people per day, to a whole range of industries and businesses.
